Work experience with Hampshire Ecological Services

For those of you hoping to pursue a career in ecological consultancy, Hampshire Ecological Services Ltd (run by Biological Sciences alumnus John Poland) will be offering a limited number of paid internships to enthusiastic, committed individuals.

Hampshire Ecological Services hope to help address the consultancy ‘skills gap’ and give graduates a head start in a competitive job market. John says “We offer high-quality training and demonstrate how ecological surveys are completed to a professional standard“. Interns will be given the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of surveys including bat and amphibian surveys between now and September. As these can involve late evenings and early mornings, availability at these times is key. Although not essential (if based in Southampton or willing to travel there), a car is beneficial and would enable interns to get more out of this opportunity. Successful interns will also gain an insight into the day-to-day running of a consultancy. There will also be additional positions available as evening bat surveyors (full training given). If you would like to apply or obtain further details, please send your CV (for the attention of John Poland) to enquiries@hantsecology.co.uk.
