There are 3 upcoming summer schools that you can apply for:

 

  1. British Ecological Society – The second BES Summer School is taking place on 18-22 July 2016 at Malham tarn FSC.  We’ve confirmed sessions on cave ecology, upland ecology, freshwater ecology, microbial and molecular ecology, plant taxonomy, birds, bats, moths, entomology, conservation and consultancy.  There’s a good dollop of great careers advice and support from a whole range of learned societies.  We’ll take a look at communications from research papers to public engagement.  Deadline for applications is 20th March.  bit.ly/20M1AEX <https://t.co/Duav3AfJka>.   2. Zoological Society of London, Mongolia summer field course – The course will run from 1st – 14th August and will be held at Hustai National Park in Mongolia’s unique rolling steppe grasslands, home to the Mongolian gazelle, Przewalski’s horse, grey wolf, lynx and a stunning array of raptors! Taught by conservation practitioners from ZSL, with input from lecturers from the National University of Mongolia, the course provides training on ecological field techniques whilst giving a unique opportunity to learn about Mongolian biodiversity and conservation issues. Training will be provided in small mammal trapping, camera trapping, distance sampling and other field survey techniques. Students will also have the opportunity to experience the traditional Mongolian nomadic lifestyle, get involved in camping, eat traditional Mongolian food and attend lectures in ger tents.
